Find what you are looking for on The WIRE

The WIRE website has been developed with dynamic navigation. Whether you are specifically looking for content or just browsing, the navigation options will help you in your journey. The levels of navigation are: Global, Category and Sections

With the launch of The WIRE website, FIIG clients can now find all types of articles on fixed income – from specialist research to investment news – at one location.

Using the site, you can read the latest fixed income news anywhere you have internet access instead of waiting to hear it from your FIIG representative or through another news outlet, as you did in the past. You can even read news on the go on your desktop, mobile phone or tablet.

The key to getting the most out of the site is to learn how to navigate around it easily. This will help you to pinpoint a specific article you are looking for, or to quickly browse news and articles on certain topics.

As the site is new, we have written a series of articles to help you find your way around. You can also refer to the articles as a guide in the future if you are unsure about how to find something.

Where to find the latest news?

From The WIRE homepage you can find the most recent articles we have written, as well as articles we have chosen to feature because of their broad interest. The top two spaces (pictured below) are our top features at that time.

If you continue to scroll down the homepage you will reach a series of eight feature boxes (pictured below). These boxes are date sorted from only the articles we elect to feature so this does not include all the latest published articles.

Continue down the homepage and you will reach the latest news (pictured below). Articles in this list are in chronological order and are the most recent items we have published to the site. With the exception of any articles we have featured however, you can view the dates on these articles to determine if they are recent or older.

So how do I get the information I need?

Global navigation

Go The WIRE homepage http://thewire.fiig.com.au/ and at the top of your screen you will see the ‘Global’ navigation bar (pictured below).

Section selection banner

The global navigation bar serves as a directory tool as you move throughout the site. From left to right in the image screen capture you will see: a Home icon, Research, Education, Commentary, Market Data and All Sections. The Home button will naturally take you back to The WIRE homepage http://thewire.fiig.com.au.

So, let’s focus in a bit closer on the: Research, Education, Commentary and Market Data ‘categories’ leaving the All Sections option for another discussion.

The categories

The content on The WIRE is segmented into four main sections. If you click on Research, for example, you will be taken to a page with content that is considered research and written by our fixed income research analysts. The Research category page is pictured below.

Research section

You may notice that the first four articles across this page are in boxes and the three that follow are listed below. It is important to note that the first four articles in any category (in chronological order) will appear in the square boxes.

You can click on any of the four categories from the global navigation bar and land on a page unique to that category as demonstrated with Research.

The sections

Of note in the above image are the blue tiles attached to each piece of content. These tiles are called ‘sections’. Sections sit underneath categories and allow you to further refine your search for specific content. An example within the Commentary category is the section ‘At FIIG.’ This section includes updates from FIIG on our services and developments. From the Commentary category, you can then click on the At FIIG section (pictured below).

As seen with the categories, this will take you to a page with all the content that relates to the At FIIG section (see below).

As mentioned in the Research category example above, the articles are date sorted: the first four most recent articles are in boxes and the rest follow, chronologically, in the list below.

This note has provided an overview of the navigation associated with the new The WIRE site and we will publish articles in the coming week that delve deeper into dynamic navigation.
