Welcome to your new fixed income research platform The WIRE. We say new because The WIRE has not just been refreshed, it has been rebuilt from the ground up to offer you a level of timeliness and functionality that far surpasses its previous incarnation
Where before The WIRE was a weekly bulletin, it is now a fixed income news website and a research library that you can use to research specific bonds, follow your favourite writers, and get information on breaking fixed income news as it happens so you never miss an opportunity.
Before you explore the site, we would like to draw your attention to five new features that you can take advantage of straight away.
1. Real time news
The WIRE is now a website where stories are published as soon as we have written them. You can check in at your convenience using your computer, tablet, or smart phone to find our latest news and research.
2. Easy Navigation
You can navigate the site by category so, if you are looking to buy or sell bonds, just click on the Trading Opportunities tab and you will see a list of our latest recommendations. You can find research on the stocks you own or are considering buying under the Company Updates tab, and information on the latest seminars and company events in the At FIIG section. If you are looking to browse, you can click on the Research, Education, Commentary or Market Data sections for a full list of articles.
3. Powerful Search
We have installed a powerful search feature in The WIRE, making it easy to find a full list of our research on any topic, just by searching with a key word. If you look up, say “Fortescue” you will find a list of our past articles on the company.
4. Favourite Writers
You can now follow your favourite contributors individually. If you like articles written by The WIRE Editor Elizabeth Moran, or FIIG’s Director of Financial Institutions and Corporate Research Justin McCarthy, just visit their “Contributor” page where you can browse their articles.
5. Social Media
We have made it easy to share articles with your social media networks over Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, while you can also access FIIG’s social sites via The WIRE website.
We hope you find the site a valuable tool to help manage and direct your investments. Please see below for more detail on how to navigate The WIRE.
Navigating The WIRE website
Thank you to the 1,000 readers who completed a survey about The WIRE at the end of last year. Feedback from the survey informed our Digital Team’s decisions on the website design and main features incorporated.

It was clear from the comments in the survey that you have different preferences about content you want to read. This is where the categories “Research, Education, Commentary and Market Data” were born. Allowing you to navigate through these main categories around the website to access the content you are looking for.
Figure 2 below is a screen capture of how articles will look on The WIRE website. In this image, note the light blue tile with “EDUCATION (BASICS)” above the article title, this is a sub category. Navigation is made even more specific and efficient through the site’s sub categories. Some examples of these are; under Education: Education (basics) and Education (advanced) and under Commentary: Trade Opportunities and Week in Review.

Another key feature of the website is the advanced search function (see Figure 3) which allows you to filter search results accordingly. You can elect to view only company research or the new issues list, for example. This function also allows you to sort by the archive and choose a time frame to view results. The options available are; this - week, month, year and the past year or older as you can see in Figure 3 below.

The survey also demonstrated that many of our readers have a particular contributor to The WIRE that they like to follow. For example, some readers were more drawn to content written by The WIRE’s Editor Elizabeth Moran, while others looked out for articles by FIIG’s Director of Financial Institutions and Corporate Research, Justin McCarthy. So, the site includes “Contributor” pages where users can browse articles written by a particular author – see Figure 4 below.
