Upcoming - AIA National Conference “The Search for Returns – The challenges ahead”

Starting early August, the Australian Investors Association will hold its national conference and FIIG are proud to be sponsoring the four day event on the Gold Coast. Elizabeth Moran will present on Day 3 and we will also have an exhibition booth and staff on hand. The conference is an independent conference initiated for the education and benefit of investors – covering the major asset classes

The AIA national conference will take place from Sunday the 2 August until – Wednesday the 5 August at the Marriot Resort and Spa in Surfers Paradise, Queensland. AIA is a non-profit organisation and therefore is an independent conference dedicated to enhancing investor’s knowledge of the major asset classes: fixed income (bonds and cash), equity and property.

Suitable for all investors: inexperienced, experienced, SMSF trustees, considering opening an SMSF, approaching or planning for retirement and of course, those who want to gain ideas from the presenters and information on offer and/or other investors who attend the event.

The event covers four different “streams” as follows:

  • Stream 1:    Investments
  • Stream 2:    Superannuation
  • Stream 3:    Retirement & Estate Planning
  • Stream 4:    Strategic Planning

Presentation topic: Risk and volatility, the forgotten cost of high returns - how to maximise your income while protecting your capital

This session will explore tactics to maximise your income while protecting your capital, and looks at the relative value between various investments including term deposits, inflation linked bonds and hybrids.

Stream: Investments

Where are the opportunities? Where will returns be generated? What asset classes offer unacceptable risks? Which economies will grow and which will slow? This stream will cover all investable asset classes from equities to bonds, onshore or offshore, property to agriculture.

Time: Tuesday 4th August (day 3) at 1.30pm – 1.50pm
