Kindred Healthcare Inc. (Kindred) is a nationwide healthcare provider specialising in post acute care in the US. The operations are organised into four divisions: hospitals, Kindred at Home, Kindred Rehabilitation Services and nursing centres. The hospitals division operates 96 long term acute care (LTAC) hospitals, with 7,124 licenced LTAC beds in 22 states. Kindred at Home is the care management division, and operates Kindred’s home health services and hospice facilities, including 656 Kindred at Home hospices, home health and non medical home care locations in 41 states, and is the largest home health and hospice company in the US based on revenues, according to figures released in the 2015 annual report.
